Description: During the Khemr Rouge war between 1975-1979 all doctors (and teachers, people with glasses and speaking a different language) in Cambodia were murdered. This genocide has led to a shortage of doctors. In the very poor and small village Rong Vean, a local doctor misdiagnosed the boy's illness when he was a very small child. Wrong medicines led to the situation he is in now.
